2nd Annual Team Up For Tennis
During this week long event, from September 22nd through September 29th, it is the 2nd Annual GTCTA Team Up For Tennis. What is it?
Team Up For Tennis is about tennis players giving back to the game! It is a week long fund-raiser for the GTCTA where each participant has a goal of playing 20 sets of tennis in one (1) week. This is equivalent to walking 60 miles, or bicycling 110 miles!
Where does the money go?
The GTCTA supports grassroots tennis programs, provides low cost trainings for community tennis instructors and indoor program scholarships for under-privileged youth age 10-17, and coordinates Corporate World Team Tennis (WTT) leagues.
We are a non-profit 501(c)3 public charity.
What is the format?
As team captains, GTCTA members recruit players or participants to join their teams.
Each participant will try to play 20 sets of tennis during this week-long event and will ask friends and relatives to support and to pledge donations to assist the GTCTA. Sets may be played at any time and place. This is also a great opportunity to get friends, family and neighbors to try this lifetime sport.
On the last day, Saturday September 29th, all participants and supporters are invited to a tennis party at the Lifetime Fitness Moore Lake club.
- From 4:00pm until 6:30pm, players can keep playing to add to the total sets.
- From 6:30pm until 9:00pm, food and drinks will be served, and prizes will be awarded to individuals and teams.
